Household energy resilience
Research into the relationship between rooftop solar, household energy costs and housing finance constraints.
Research and scenario modelling
The project question
Households can face high energy costs while having limited access to capital for improvements. A credible model must distinguish household benefit from project income.
We have developed research and model frameworks linking energy performance, affordability and financing scenarios. These are analytical tools, with assumptions that require validation.
Research and feasibility
Map housing archetypes, roof suitability, regional solar resource, energy demand, fuel-poverty definitions and distributional effects.
Technical and financial modelling
Model self-consumption, export value, lifecycle costs and monthly household support. Test debt-service effects, default assumptions, tax-relief eligibility and portfolio concentration separately.
Commercial structuring options
Compare roof leases, service payments, grants and project-level finance. Any mortgage, consumer-credit or tax structure requires appropriately qualified specialists; no borrower recommendation is made.
Asset management and monitoring
Design reporting for installation quality, savings attribution, complaints, maintenance and the persistence of household benefit.
Example brief
Commission a regional solar and household-affordability scenario study.
A scoped engagement can produce an evidence brief, assumptions register, scenario model, commercial-options comparison and a prioritised plan for further diligence. The exact outputs depend on the brief.
